Drones

Collective animal behavior is a fascinating topic. While working under Dr. Vishwesha Guttal, CES, IISc I made a few simulations in NetLOGO to simulate herding behavior and got hooked on to the topic. We needed aerial photography to study herding in wild animals. Since commercial drones were prohibitively expensive,  made a multirotor drone and a fixed wing plane with special camera stabilizers for aerial videography.

I’m still to learn the fine art of documenting projects before testing and crashing them. Here’s a video from the drone during the crash.
